Not certain but i think ssn says khans agents told them it was a ibf (that might be wrong) guy that was ringside and he wasnt meant to be there.

Of course there should be rematch, but not because of anyone at ringside, but because there was a clause in the contract that said if Peterson won, then there would be a rematch as soon as possible.
Now I know the fella should not have been at ringside with the judges, but that does not take awy from the fact Khan did not do enough to win, he should have been more aggressive and he could have KO`d Peterson, he didn`t and he should accept that he lost and get on with it.

Make no difference , he did not do enough to win the fight, no matter how much he cries about it, it is a loss on his record. Even if he gets it turned into a no contest result, everyone knows he lost.
HE SHOULD JUST MAN UP AND ACCEPT IT.

It's a bit like when Haye bitched about his toe.

Was it the title he won after he elbowed the guy in the face? It seemed accidental, but I don't think he'd have took it as gracefully the other way round.

Completely agree Mark although I think he would have won had he not had two points deducted and I think Khan is finding this the hardest part to accept. I think he will get a rematch and I think he will knock him out this time but like you say the initial loss will always stay with him.

  7. disagree

I thought Khan won the fight clearly even with the deductions, Patterson threw so many punches that missed, Khan hardly missed with a punch, terrible decision, Ref was appalling.

    Re: disagree

    If only I was a pedant ;-)

Agree that khan landed far more punches, but he has done himself no favours by bleating about it. The money will make sure there's a rematch and this time Khan won't mess up. No big deal in the grand scheme of things, the Mayweather fight was never going to happen and there are too many vested interests to pit the top light welterweights against each other. That's one advantage UFC has, only one man making money and calling the shots, so the fights that get put together are the best fights to sell the shows. In MMA eveyone loses at some point and so no-one is unduly bothered about a perfect record.

    Knock him out?

Something Ortiz, Kahn and Bradley have failed to do?

    No rematch clause mate

That's why Peterson has a serious chance of facing Manny next.

They said in the post match interview there was no rematch clause, that's why Kahn's team are pushing for the rematch so much.

    Re: No rematch clause mate

I thought Golden Boy Man Shaefer had said there was, but if not then they have fecked up big style!!!
I thought Kahn won the fight, but only just, the way he back pedalled did him no favours at all in Washington.
He should have stood his ground and made Peterson fight the way Khan wanted to, not the other way around.

Khan has the ability; I reckon that given the chance in a rematch he'd leave nothing to chance.

    Re: Knock him out?

i think Peterson should tell him he needs to prove he's a contender and if he fights 2 bengal tigers and survives he'll fight him the day after

Sorry mate, I just can't agree with that

He never looked like knocking Peterson out at any point in the fight (although did wobble him in the 7th or 8th).

Peterson is a tough cookie who has never been knocked out, yet you're making it sound like Khan had an off night and Peterson is levels below - which isn't true.

I don't think Khan has carried his power up to 140, but has strengthened his ability to take a punch and go 12 rounds.
