Inthe next few months there will be two huge 'super fights' involving the only two British boxers who can justify their position as top 10pound for pounders.
Do we think after these two fights we'll still have two unbeaten champions or are the wheels gonna fall off ?
My view is I think Calzaghe will win, by late stoppage or close (i.e. dodgy judging) decision, Kessler is not in the same league and will get battered.
Hatton / Mayweather is a different proposition. I hope I'm wrong, but I think the step up in weight and the speed of Mayweather will be too much for Hatton and I suggest a comfortable points win for the Yank. But every time Hatton has been really tested he's come up trumps, so fingers crossed.
Following on from that do people think that Carl Froch or David Haye, in the near future or Amir Khan further down the line can become champions of note and be judged alongside JC and RH ?

I think both our guys will win personally. There's no way either will let the chance to prove themselves let them go by. Cannot wait until the evening of the Preston match to watch Calazghe (Y) (Y) (Y)
Both Hatton and Calzaghe are facing there toughest opponents yet. Don't underestimate Kessler, he's a tough straight punching fighter who's beaten some decent opposition. However, Calzaghe always ups his game for the big fights, and this is a huge fight, I think he'll win on points if he avoids the 'slapping' that we saw against Manfredo, and we see the class we saw against Jeff Lacy. Hatton is a tough one, I'll be in Vegas for the fight. I think Hatton has a real chance of beating Mayweather, going on "dancing with the stars" is not the way to prepare for a fight with someone who fights the way Ricky does. Don't know if it's my heart that makes me think Hatton can do it by KO in round 6 or 7, but Mayweather doesn't hit hard enough to knock Ricky out, and it's all about whether the hitman be in the condition of his life and keep up the good work for 12 solid rounds if he needs to, something he's failed to do in the past. Forget Froch, hasn't fought anyone worth mentioning yet, just trying to make a name for himself by calling out the likes of Calzaghe. I actually think he's got a chance of losing to a Robin Reid who's trained well for what would be his retiring fight if he loses. Kahn against Graham Earl could be one of the fights of the year. Anyone who saw Earl's last fight will realise he's a hell of a lot tougher than Kahn has proved to be so far, not sure I've seen anyone take as much punishment in just five rounds of boxing yet still manage to knock his opponent down twice. Kahn will have to be precise with his punching, and not sloppy with his defence. If he does that he should come through in round 8 or 9.
I think Kessler will beat Calzage in the 8th in a supeb fight and go on to be one of the true greats. I think British fans are underestimating him and are in for a shock Mayweather Hatton is a real clash of styles. i think Ricky will win on points as he will be coming forward through out and Mayweather doesn't have the power. My worry is that the extra weight and added work rate required will leave Hatton exhausted and he will fade in the later rounds Carl Froch is very limited and will never amount to anything more than a good domestic fighter. HAye looks a good talent but not tested yet. If he beats Mormeck next month then he really is world class. Would love to see him in the ring with Enzo Maccarinelli , but the view is that he is struggling at the weight and will step up after the Mormeck fight whatever the result I think Kahn will beat Earle early as he has too much class. i worry he will never fulfill his talents due to extra curricular issues. he seems to be heading the way of Nas
Did you know that the boxer Michael Gomez (real name Michael Armstrong) is a kind of come good Gypo). My brother’s mate boxers at the Grahams Gym and was told that yesterday. According to Wikipedia he was born when his mum was driving herself to the hospital during labour and crashed into a lamppost. Then gave birth to him in the back seat. Interesting stuff eh?
Disagree about Froch. I think next year he'll show his worth, Reid is slowing down so I'd be suprised if he causes too many problems. Haye is an edge of your seat fighter, he gets hit but he can really bang my worry is that he's still too gung ho; as you say we'll find out in his next fight, maybe an average heavyweight division is a better one for him to target.

All 4 British fighters (Kahn, Calzaghe, Hatton, Haye) are in with there toughest opponents in there career so far. Don't think the British are underestimating Kessler, outside of Wales, lots of Boxing fans have struggled to take to Calazghe due to Frank Warren never giving him the big fights he craved. Warren should have walked over broken glass to get Calzaghe the Hopkins or Roy Jones fight 3 or 4 years ago. Don't think kessler will win with a knockout, he's tough but Calzaghe hasn't got a glass jaw, and when on the back foot he only knows how to fight one way, which is punch yourself to safety, and he has the power to knock anyone out. Haye could easily become the next British Heavyweight champion if he beats Mormeck, but until he takes a punch on the chin from an 18 stone man I'll have my reservations. I've said this before but I don't think Hatton intends to carry the extra weight as they believe Mayweather isn't a big, or powerful, enough guy to warrant it.
I'm looking forward to seeing Ricky take on Mayweather, it will be an excellent fight - as i said before in another thread, if Ricky can take the ring dominance away from Floyd then he will have as much chance as any to beat him. Floyd can easily last 12 rounds, Ricky can't - he has to wear Floyd down and make the ring his. I can see Ricky winning this in 9, if it lasts longer then I cant. Calzaghe vs Kessler - Kessler is a very well rounded boxer, this will be a close one. Kessler is a great fighter, a very underrated boxer (as far as technical ability), due to his punching power. He will give Joe trouble, but Joe has the combination and flurry speed, and this alone will get him past Kessler, in a very close fight. Joe will get the better of Kessler in exchanges on the inside The one I'm looking forward to though is Shane Mosley vs Miguel Cotto, this will be a fecking war. Anyone who's seen these two guys KNOW that they dominate opponents and for once Miguel will not be the bigger, stronger man in the ring. Mosley throws the PERFECT punch, MADE for Cotto! His overhand right will hit Cotto much more than expected, and this time, I beleive Mosley will be slightly bigger, slightly stronger, has some great stamina of his own, will be able to take the Cotto power. I see this as a war, with Mosley either stopping him in the middle rounds, or outpointing him (with Cotto SERIOUSLY hurt during the fight being the difference).
