Brad (with his one eye) is seemingly a complete nutty fruitcake, full of himself and taking charge of everything, as he has done all his life ! However, poor little Fudge, his brother, is suffering badly at the moment with a very bad leg, diagnosed as having a cyst, which combined with his arthritis is making the poor mite very wobbly. Last week he was out on his little walk and, poor lamb, fell over on his bad leg which set back his recovery a long way. He could hardly walk before but now it is so much more difficult. He can hardly put his foot to the floor. The vet is treating him on antibiotics, anti inflammatories and pain killers. I can't imagine how he is coping..... but being a dog, he is. He has such a bright outlook, ears up, eyes bright, wanting to do everything as normal, but I feel so helpless. It has not been a very good few months for my two precious friends.
So sorry to hear of your problems, mate. Hopefully, Fudge will follow Brad's lead and bounce back from his troubles. They're certainly both due a bit of good luck, aren't they?
They are both 12, their birthday(s) are on 4th Oct when they'll be 13. They are "twin" brothers, from a hilltop farm in Derbyshire. Just farm doggies, nothing special, so to speak. Yes, I know age is catching up with them both, but they have had 12+ years of near perfect health, so we have all been very, very fortunate. It just seems to hit hard no matter how or when it happens.
Whenever you've spoken either to myself or Laura about Brad & Fudge, they certainly sound special to me, mate. A couple of loveable characters, in fact.
