I'm surprised that we haven't signed him on a free, right footed left back. Well I'm surprised nobody else has signed him to be fair.
He was reportedly on £40k a week at Man Utd. He's probably holding out for a good deal. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.mi...andon-williams-sees-wages-rocket-22467794.amp
Well, if Crawley can spend 2.3billion Tanzanian shillings on a player, why aren't we spending £1m/week on wages for a player?
We could never have signed him. Wouldn't fit in with our wage structure. Was on circa £135k a week at United. More than our squad combined.
He was on a hundred weight of moon rocks, a gallon of angel's tears, and a pocket full of unicorns' horns at Man Utd so there's no chance we could afford him.
Would imagine this has something to do with it... That and the 200k a week he was on at Man U https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...don-Williams-trial-crashing-laughing-gas.html
40k (rising to 60k) That's insane money for someone who only the equivalent of 36 games of Premiership football over the course of 4 years, with 23 of those being for Norwich. Football is just completely bent. Edit: After tax that's roughly £1m for 4 years barring any fancy accounting for the equivalent of 51 full games (at all levels) of football from the start of the contract. If you allow for 4 hours training a day, 5 days a week and add in the game time he was on roughly £115 per hour for those 4 years.
The wages academy players get at the big clubs now is obscene. Remember Claudio Gomes who we had from City a few years ago? It was rumoured at the time that City were paying him something ridiculous like £30k a week. He left City having played 3 competitive games for them, none in the Premier League. Football really is broken.
