He means that he's in for a right shoeing when the missus gets home I think.

Have you read the article or just the headline?

From the OP I was expecting a bloke who flew back from Spain on his own a day early or summat, not someone deliberately conspiring to lure his wife overseas, abandon her and then cancel her visa. Not really a light hearted story.

If you actually read that it’s abhorrent and horrendous. Not sure the tone of the thread is appropriate.

I read the headline, I was waiting for my eldest to get his boots on for football. What's the gist of it?

I just assumed it was an odd, yet relatively light-hearted post re some hubby ditching his missus.

He conned her to go Afghanistan from Australia, fake work, he left her in Afghanistan, went home, he purposefully only got a one way ticket for his wife and then when he did return home he cancelled her visa.

That's what I assumed you thought
As @Tyke The Tree-Frog tree posted it was actually an awful example of domestic abuse. And rightfully the " brave man" ended up in prison.

Having read up on exit trafficking. Many victims never manage to get back. Thankfully this lady did. The husband got imprisoned. But I wonder what happened to his mother. Is she a victim of the situation or co conspirator. It's not uncommon, regardless of creed, for some mother in laws to dislike their precious sons partners,
If the latter, as a co conspirator, should she be returned to her country of origin. ?

My wife truthfully absolutely adores ours btw, they have a special relationship and it shows from both sides, as do i, although she struggles with my sense of humour at times not knowing when I'm kidding. (As does mi mrs lol and we've been together nearly 50 yrs. Sllly arse. :)) Which is all the time tbf lol. A smile confirms it :).
