I know lots of us remember the Prem season, but even I cannot recall all the games, the scores, etc etc. It may be slightly picky but would it have been possible to put the opposition name and venue at the bottom of the clips so that not only thickos like me but also younger folks who didn't see the Prem year would know who it was we were beating or getting beaten by. Otherwise great stuff as usual !
I'm being a little presumptuous here DB3 - but if you're referring to... the Liverpool game at Oakwell, and the instance where the 'fan' ran across the pitch from the East Lower towards Willard, it was Jan-Aga who floored the guy - as Mackerman took one look and then scampered away in the opposite direction! If it's another incidence in the same game (didn't somebody run on from the Ponte?) - then my apologies.
Lord Raglan........ there was another incident in said match where Stumpy looked like he was going to kill a fan
Was that before he looked like he was going to kill.. Paul Ince and Willard??! Actually, the only dismissal in that game that looked remotely like being justifiable was Stumpy's! Both Mogs and Barnyard's red cards were dubious to put it mildly. Not sure how Ince and Mackerman stayed on the park either - given all the chelping they did at the ref. during the match.
Stumpy's looked justified? He was complaining to the ref because Ince had thrown a punch and the ref missed it, the other 2 sendings off I could have accepted the ref getting them wrong due to his angle but then to miss the most blatant punch I think I've ever witnessed on a football field was disgraceful.
RE: Stumpy's looked justified? I met Darren when I was on holiday in 2000and I asked him whether he should have been seen off. He said 'yes he'd chinned one of the Liverpool players (think it could have been Redknapp or Mc Mannaman I can't remember) he also said that he had respect for that player as he didn't make a fuss about it.
