yes and he's exactly the type of creative midfielder we need..... lads at the full house would love him back as well!
Not surprised, as he hasn't been on the bench, and probably does not figure in the manager's plan. Apparently he is on £15,000 a week at Reading, so he would have to take a big drop in wages to come to us. Would love it, but cannot see it.
He could still do a good job for us but I agree with the other posters that we probably can't afford his wages. Its a shame but that's how it is I suppose.
Re Can't afford his wages :- Howard is the kind of player, along with loads of others, who will have to take a reality check on wages, the kind of clubs that will want him will not be able to pay £15000 per week, the days of average championship players demanding high wages are over. The clubs that can pay that kind of money will not take a player that cannot get on the bench at reading.
Re: Re Can't afford his wages :- Well surely, even in our situation, we can compete with League One clubs :/
might be worth a risk............ but not on anything like £15k a week, can't see him dropping to £5k which is probably his level. Another player who's done nowt since leaving us. 27 goals in 3 years with us, 5 goals in 3 years with SU and Reading. I'd be concerned at whether he's past his best now and living on a reputation, which, lets face it, he gained solely from us.
Re: might be worth a risk............ Well, judging how well he played last season against us at Oakwell, I'd say he still has it!"
Re: might be worth a risk............ we,re not skint at all the board are just that tight.for instance where has the shackell and the hammill money gone so many players have left so thats a hefty wage bill gone and theres no way the players thats been fetched in are on the same wages as the players that has left.so for me the club are misinforming the supporters who pay their season ticket money and their matchday money.i bet rowing and taylor hasnt took a wage cut though.
Re: might be worth a risk............ With Brian Howard leaving it could give the green light to the signing of Jacob Mellis, who has been linked with a possible loan move from Chelsea. Read more: http://www.reading.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=253446#ixzz1WcfLT3z5
