Never Doubted His Future Was With Us He wouldn't have signed a new two year contract mere months ago if he didn't want to play for us. I saw him saying the same last night on Sky Sports News, who also showed a bit of town and spoke to Simon Davey.
Agree, contracts mean nothing these days...... If an offer comes along for anything above two million then we will accept, wish we wouldn't we are making a profit off the field and l would rather have the quality on the field than the tranfer fees in the bank. Personally though l think its all paper talk, Everton's goalkeeping coach was at the game watching Anderson, Everton have had an official at every Barnsley game since he signed on loan and will continue to do so, Man U did the same last season with Eckersley and Jones when they played (rarely). Just people put two and two together, he's from Everton so he's watching Howard and he's a goalkeeping coach so he must be watching Muller as well!!!
Contracts Mean Something When......... the person who's contract it is, is a man of their word. You saying Howie isn't a man of his word (chinny) (chinny) (chinny)
If he's offered the chance to play in the Prem on Prem wages.. He will go, why wouldn't he at his age? Do you seriously think he would stay at Barnsley? Money on the table and a chance in the Premiership? no matter how much he loves the club he wouldn't pass up that opportunity.
RE: Contracts Mean Something When......... No, but he signed a contract in the summer based upon his options at that time and because he wanted to play for us, however if a Premiership side was to become interested in him then you couldn't blame the guy for then wanting to give it a go.
At last sense, a contract these days mean we get a fee when they go!! Instead of going for nothing when they're out of contract!
He's Plenty.......... of time to play in the premiership. He's only young and he's more likely to get a game for a premiership club, if he has a succesful full season with us.
Looked tatty for the last 50 years! I see that the school behind as closed down, but l think the problem is the row of terraced house towards the academy and they're objecting to a new stand. Hopefully something will be done once things have improved on the field and we become an "established" Championship side.
RE: Looked tatty for the last 50 years! I was under the impression that BFC had purchased the terrace houses in the Dennis era, and the former owners were living there on a peppercorn rent. I also thought there was a proviso that if the house prices went up over a certain percent they would get further compensation.
I dont think so... Margaret lives in the end one, the clubs washing lady. The stand wouldn't be much higher than it is now so l dont see what the problem is, lighting wouldn't be affected much, the sun comes up behind the ponty and a new stand would look better than the eyesore thats there now.
Agreed. When he goes on about his confidence, l've not seen anyone.... that confident in his own ability in a reds shirt since Craig Hignett.
this post isn't contructive at all but... SHUT UP. the amount of ***** you talk is just beyond belief. I do however agree that Howard is a great player who displays a huge amount of passion. How you come to the conclusion that he is a 'man of his word' is bizarre. He might be, he might not be, but you dont have a fecking clue.
RE: Agreed. When he goes on about his confidence, l've not seen anyone.... Think we might have quite a few in the squad now.
