According to Sunday People Howard handed in a transfer request last week??!! Derby are after him apparently but BFC want £4 million for him now. What a load of rubbish! Howard was only saying on Friday that his future was at Barnsley.
There now seems to be a concerted approach from the media and teams to unsettle him. They can't bear the thought that a talented, gifted, inspirational player like Howard could possibly play for, or want to play for Barnsley. How dare we have such a player in our ranks!!
likewise for Muller/Souza/Werling/ et al, as we get better so will the nastyness, conspiracy hmmmmmm they are **** scared we may have the temerity to get in the prem again...surely not...surely we should know our place...if only we could make it to the ishmian league, maybe then they would like us.... B A S T A R D S
Bar, Bar, Bar BARSTEWARDS! I hope we can hang on to our players. Davey only said the other day on the Radio that as we are doing well, it inevitably attracts interest from other Clubs, and itb was important to keep our players together. Hope the Board have the bottle to do it. It'll be interesting to hear what Cryne and Shepherd say at the meeting on Tuesday.
We Aren't Allowed In The Premiership The media think we should sell all our best players and go back to league one. Why would they lie about him handing in a transfer request otherwise? No wonder so few people buy Sunday Mirror.
maybe there is an ancient by law preventing our success, like the one.. in Herefordshire that permits an Englishman to shoot a Welshman with a longbow from 100 paces on sundays...hmm its Sunday , get the car out
I Did Hear Yesterday.......... 4.5 million for him and he will probably go for that in january. I put it down to beer talk and a few too many. Now this has been brought up the day after. We shall have to see, but I think he's more important to us than Ashley Ward was and we got 4.5 for him.
RE: I Did Hear Yesterday.......... I don't think we could turn that sort of money down, and I wouldn't blame the manager or board if they did accept that sort of fee.
I don't think it's about people not being able to bear us having good players, I think it's just silly paper talk that comes to everyone when they get a few good results under their belt. They'd be filling collumn inches with exactly the same stuff about Hull if they were doing well. Half of these rumours are made up anyway. It's just a symptom of us doing well and I sure that, aside from that, it's meaningless and not worth bothering with.
Neither Would I Four million pound or over, we could buy a good replacement and buy back the ground and land from the council. Even then we would have plenty of cash left to balance the books and/or strengthen the team for a final push for the play offs.
