Wonder if there have been any attempts to lure him away from us during the close season? Be surprised if not, i have to say that he's the one player i would be gutted to see go at the moment....
He said on the interview on Barnsley World that there was a lot of interest in him, but that he chose to stay here after talking to Davey - heard a little rumour he's new captain, though rumour is all it is.
i hope i'm wrong but he seems like the type of player who would love to go swanning back down south given the opportunity, as far as the captaincy goes I suppose that would make sense. As much as I admire the enthusiasm of Paul Reid he's probably going to have to put up with being a backup player next season so taking the armband away from him would make sense
RE: Hope so , Howard seemed to step it up a level when he was Cappo last season. nt he's probably one of the few players that feel they are appreciated by the barnsley fans as well.....can anyone remember one of the last games under Ritchie where he was starting on the bench and the chant was "we want howard, we want howard", two minutes later he was on
RE: Cappo? cappo - i believe that's sunday league talk as you can say it without still sounding pissed from the night before. Not one for my vocabulary mind
RE: Hope so , Howard seemed to step it up a level when he was Cappo last season. nt wasnt that when Davey first became manager?
RE: Hope so , Howard seemed to step it up a level when he was Cappo last season. nt
Think you are right.

RE: Hope so , Howard seemed to step it up a level when he was Cappo last season. nt i think it was still ritchie but you could be right
It was Ipswich at home, Davey's first game. Howard didn't come on I don't think did he?
We won 1-0. McCann scored.

RE: Howard was an unused sub in the Ipswich game. ok cheers, i was sure he came on shortly after it being chanted which is why i remembered it but i was probably heavily intoxicated at the time
