Little - We Were The Better Side When both Managers admit the result was not a fair reflection of the game, you know you've been unlucky. Andy Ritchie joined Brian Little in stating that Barnsley didn't deserve the victory at Oakwell. Brian Little said: "I'm disappointed as I thought we were the better side. We kept them quiet for long periods. Our players were bright and strong and we were unlucky to go in 0-0 at half time. "Their first goal was gifted to them. We got a throw in outside their box and within five seconds they had a three on two. I was shouting to Sam Aiston when the penalty was given so didn't see it but our lads are pretty confident that it was a bad shout against us. "It has been a frustrating night as we were better than them but lost the game. Barnsley boss Andy Ritchie added: "I feel for Brian as his players have done everything but put the ball in the net. We've got away with three points."
Well, that's football for you. We should've beaten Bradford City and Southend United, but we only got 1 point in each match. Just think where we'd be if we'd gotten 3 points in these two matches, 4 points more, upto 3rd(?). Saying that...I'm not complaining with 5th! Good luck to Tranmere for the rest of the season, I hope they improve in the latter stages of the season and escape relegation.
Not a penalty ?? Balls. And the fact we turned their throw in into a swift counter attack which brought a goal is all credit to us.
RE: Not a penalty ?? Penalty looked a harsh call from where we were - one of those we'd have been complaining about had it been against us
RE: Not a penalty ?? From East Stand Upper, on the 18 yard line,it looked like Richards was trying to go through a pair of sliding doors as they were closing. Never stood a chance, deffo penalty. First goal - pure class!!!!
RE: Not a penalty ?? That's exactly as I saw it from Row 11 of the Upper East. He was sandwiched between two players and brought down. A nailed on penalty if I ever saw one. Decent ref for once, not card happy. (england) (england) (england)
