BARNSLEY midfielder Brian Howard has set his sights on winning the Player of the Year award again next season.
Brian told Barnsley World TV: "My targets are very high for the new season. I managed to get eight goals last season but was very disappointed not to score in the last 14-matches so that is something I want to put right. I want ten goals next season.
"I want to win the Player Of The Year award again. I know it will be tough because there are new lads coming in and some of the ones who were here last season will lift their game again so it is up to me to improve.

"The gaffer has pulled me to one side and told me what I need to improve on so I have taken everything on board and hopefully I can have a good season again. I want to get Barnsley up the league and away from a relegation fight.
"I was always going to sign a new deal really. I said that I wanted to stay from day one and it was just down to everybody thrashing out the right deal. There was a lot of interest from other Championship clubs but Barnsley managed to match that and stayed in the division as well so that was a massive boost. It was signed a few weeks before the Club announced it so it was nice to get things done and dusted.
"Contracts always do drag on. I was always confident that I would sign and would be here".

If having that sort of (over) confidence means he gets amongst the goals again, then I wont argue with that.
