Mate you are sounding really pathetic.

I know it's your favourite hobby horse, but for gods sake give it a rest... It's boring the tits off me

What? I was being serious. It is, in my opinion, a really good idea. Costs very little and puts everybody in a good mood before you've even started to speak.

The beer came out well beyond halfway through the meeting and only because Nudger asked him to get the beers in.

Give over, you know what I'm getting at.... Snipe snipe snipe.

We have heard it all before, I could have bet my house you would have been on here tonight, chipping away.

There was absolutely no sniping going on there at all. I said in the other thread that I think Don is brilliant with customers when he's had chance to prepare (in fact i've said that numerous times in the past) and the free beer thing is a great example of this.

Are you suggesting don committed an offence under the bribery act?

Aye but he did get them in didn't he, and did in the last meeting too. A lot of hosts of customer meeting would have given out tea and biscuits at a push but beer goes a step further doesn't it. It makes the customer think you're more valued because you've been given something 'proper' to drink, makes you appear generous and open and then theres the added bonus of the slight (very slight) effect of the beer itself. It really is a stroke of genius and in the grand scheme of things will have cost next to nowt.

I'm not sure if you've noticed this or not but for the past god knows how many years i've posted on here it's never been a secret that I've always been interested in marketing and PR. Perhaps with that in mind it is possible that I was being serious in thinking that it was a good PR move? Especially considering that when i've wanted to criticise Don or anyone at the club i've always done it quite openly.

Tell you what supertyke, for the next meeting you tell us a day and time when you are available and gally will arrange it to suit. You'll be able to put all your pr ideas straight to don then.

Ought to have got the beer out earlier. Another couple and the Don would have really opened up :D
