As a kid we called half-bricks 'half-charlies', or 'aif charlies' in t'proper dialect, like. Anyone else?

I'm sure we called them checkers....god knows where that came from, slightly off topic the area around Manor bakeries in Carlton is still known as sticky top.

I found out they were called checkers when, as a kid, a "half-checker" collided with the side of my head. I got a red card for a head-butt, and the half-checker was treated for concussion.
