Its easy to forget what a private man Cryne really is, maybe he should get someone to be chairman thus letting him take a back seat,
He doesnt sound well to me. I wonder how much longer he can take the pressure.
He needs help - quickly.

Re: Brilliant Interview............didn't sound like that to me He sounded pissed off We know he wants to leave.............so we now need another chairman He also said something odd.........that he wants to get away from hassle from the fans while at the club I sit in the West Stand and I haven't seen or heard anyone having a dig at Pat Cryne (dunno)
I agree in that it certainly was an interview from the heart. A shrewd man and it has not escaped him that Simon Davy may have the dressing room but has lost the fans. Maybe the players like him because he does not give them a rollicking at half time, is not strong enough to change games by making unpopular changes, not to mention his motionless on the sideline. The radio is just saying he has assembled a really good squad - maybe but they did not perform to the best of their abilities. A hard decision for Mr Cryne but an unpopular manager means low season tickets and almost certainly another relegation dog fight. My vote is reluctantly for a change and hopefully (fingers crossed) the new man to keep the nucleus of players plus the additions where needed. Who to replace - now that opens another debate.
What a genuine sensitive gentleman.. who clearly understands football. I get the feeling hes saying to Simon, we can see where we have gone wrong the supporters can see where we have gone wrong.. do you realise where we have gone wrong... If you cant give me the answers this question... then its good bye.. All he needed to do was spend some time in the crowd ..we could tell him... If he had been at our side when we played Doncaster over there when we were clearly the better side and we decide to sit back for 1/2 the game defending a one goal lead.... and how many other games where when we attacked sides we frightened them to death.... the worst thing we did in those situations was to score.... because WE in the crowd could feel the immediate change of plan and we start to sit back and invite other teams onto us.. Lets have a policy where we use our players in their best positions and make the opposition worry about us..instead ..of us worrying not only about what the opposition do... we worry about what we are doing...
Its a shame when someone who has done so much for the club seems so fed up only 2 days after the club staying up. He obviously doesnt want the hassle of getting a new manager, but the facts stay the same. How many games have been good to watch , how many times have we sat back and lost points, we only seem to win when Daveys job depends on it Derby Donny Plymouth Sheff Wed, if a game is level near the end we never up the tempo for a winner, Davey is in the comfort zone and frightened to come out of it. Mr Cryne needs a chairman to do the dirty work for him.
i aint heard the interview but davey shoul be giving cryne a hell of birthday present this year for how much time he has been given.
nudge, you say .you aint seen no anyone giving cryne hassel? didnt you leave your seat to stare at cryne, after darren moore been sent off v donny . then promtly sit after we equalised
RE: missed the interview http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/barnsley/8034009.stm Audio link from the above. Well done Mr.Cryne.
RE: missed the interview "I don't want to hear the fact that he's Welsh and the fact that he played for Cardiff". As Swansea born and an ex-Swansea player, I bet Davey is really impressed with that freudian slip!
I actually thought it was a bit odd. Seemed to imply that the main reason for keeping with Davey was/is to avoid disheartening the players and preventing an exodus. He also made a good number of factual errors and wants Davey to stop being Welsh and become a bit more friendlier. Don't see how Davey can stay with that sort of support!
Not heard the interview but am I right in thinking that Cryne is suggesting Davey has a good rapport with his players? To me I think there have been several things that would suggest the opposite? (dunno)
RE: Not heard the interview but Yep he basically insisted that Davey has the backing of all the players and always has
RE: Several things, such as what? I would imagine Souza refusing to be a substitute and some obvious irritation at times from Bogdanovich are two of them.
RE: Several things, such as what? I just have the impression that he is not a players man. Nothing specific, but just an overall impression. The Kozluk in favour/ out of favour business (that didn't seem to be based on form) The on/ off relationship with Howard ... and the fact that I can't remember players ever running to celebrate a goal with him (like they used to with Ritchie for example). Can't put my finger on it, so just call it female intuition!! ... plus a suggestion from someone on the inside that he is not liked... and before you ask I have nothing to back it up - just what someone told me.
Anyone who thinks you can keep an entire squad of a footballers continually happy is deluded to say the very least.
