But if tonight has showed us anything, it's that we are really lacking up top and urgently need to bring a striker in. If Cole or McAtee pick up an injury then we are ******.

Max Watters, I'm sorry lad but based on what I've seen so far this season you'll never be a professional footballer, you're stealing a wage. Khaled did a wonderful job giving you a four year contract, not!!

Cosgrove, another player who just looks so poor. I don't think the lad could hurt a fly!

Delighted for Collins who rolls to another win but I'm sure his detractors on here will be waiting for the next game where we go behind so they can call for his sacking again.

Incredible result. That’s got to be the best result of the season when you consider who was missing & Kane limping off. Fair play to them all. Some shift they put in

Fantastic win with side we had out and more so what we finished with. Right effort.

I actually thought Cosgrove put himself about tonight.

Looking like it’s the midfield where our attention will be now. Particularly if Styles leaves.

Definitely need a striker and a midfielder. Really hope the board back Collins.

To what end though? I agree, he puts himself about. He’ll happily run around conceding free kicks for 90 minutes, but what is he bringing to the table from an attacking pov?

He’s a giant of a bloke, yet he rarely wins a header or tackle cleanly, has no hold up play that I can see, doesn’t link up, and never ever looks like he’s threatening the goal.

I think he’s been very poor for us, based on what I’ve seen.

They all battled tonight for those three points, to hold on with so many of our best players missing is a credit to them.

I think Cosgrove has alot about him - I don’t think we particularly play to his strengths and he gets penalised far too often just because of his size.

I haven’t given up on Watters yet either. I think there is a player in there and I don’t think there is a lack of effort. A huge lack of confidence however which will never be helped by your own supporters pulling you down the minute you come on the pitch.

Maybe he isn’t good enough - who knows but I think it’s unjust to question his effort.

I’m not saying he was a world beater by any stretch of the imagination, I just thought he was a nuisance to their defenders. Was a tough game for him to come into given we would probably be under the cosh and playing against the wind for the entire half.

I do agree that his link up play is poor and doesn’t often look like scoring. It’s a good job McAtee has been excellent in the last couple of months to join Devante up there. Need to keep those 2 fit.

I'd respectfully disagree with the OP. Last 20 minutes I was expecting a big push from Oxford who probably have the firepower to get an equaliser. We have Cosgrove, Watters and McTee up front. What happened was that Oxford could hardly get the ball out of their own half because all three strikers (who combined really well) ran such an effective press. The sustained onslaught never came and they are a large part of the reason why. In the modern game a striker is expected to do much more than grab 20 tap ins a season. I don't see us signing anyone any better in reality so I get behind Watters and Cosgrove
