Middlesbrough's forward line played well tonight. They moved well off the ball and on another night would've had half a dozen. Credit must go to Luke Steele for three one-on-one saves. I'm also going to give Jacob Butterfield some credit, not because he was especially outstanding but because he didn't hide. He was prepared to have a go at goal and, when the crowd are restless, it's easy for players to avoid doing something that may lead to a chorus of boos. As for the rest of the team, where do we start? I've said on here already this season that I don't think McEverley is playing well and I'm saying it again now. To compare Rob Edwards with Jason Shackell on early evidence makes me weep. We look so unsure at the back. Doyle was a big dissapointment for me tonight. Too many loose passes and a reckless studs up challenge leading to a yellow card and that was it. I hardly noticed Perkins or O'Brien such was their muted influence. Haynes was moaning and throwing his arms around in frustration in a manner not seen since Garry O'Connor, so I'm going to predict that if there is any truth in other clubs wanting him he'll have been on to his agent to pursue a transfer away from Oakwell before the floodlights were turned off. The next two away games look very difficult and is it quite possible that we'll have a one point return from five games and that our top scorer with a grand total of one will play for Middlesbrough. Putting Bobby back in the side would give me a bit of hope. It's true that he had a stinker against Morecambe but I can't remember him having too many consecutive bad games for us in the 250-odd that he's played. For me you could swap him for Wiseman, Edwards, Addison or Doyle and I'd be happy.
