Full story here, seems quite confident

Bristol City boss Gary Johnson claims he is "very close" to making a double swoop in the transfer market.

The Robins have two players in the pipeline and another pair could follow soon after if contract talks are successful.

Johnson is loathe to alert other clubs to his business so is keeping his cards close to his chest, but he is confident of adding to his options imminently.

He told the club's website: "Our supporters understand why we don't mention any names, it wouldn't be right to do that yet, but rest assured we are working very hard behind the scenes.

"It's very close now. There is a lot of speculation in the papers at the moment and there are a lot of players that we are said to be interested in that we aren't.

"A lot of people like to drum up a bit of business by speculating on their own players and agents often like to do so as well.

"We'll keep things under our hat and reveal things when it's the right time."

If he wants to chase money there's not a lot we can do I suppose. He's integral to our team imho, so his replacement is a massive signing. Whether that's Charles Adam esq who knows ?

If they are prepared to pay £1.5million

dont see us turning that down, so from having a central partnership of Howard and De Silva, we'll be left scratching our arses cos in my opinion Colace isnt quick enough or strong enough for the Championship. Alreight having 2 decent strikers up front if you've no one to get the ball to them.

    £5 mill for Roger Johnson

    perspective/compare & contrast etc.

Depends who replaces. We lack pace in midfield, did so last season, as Rolls Royce as ADS is.

Is that your genuine opinion? I agree but I think I'm in a very small minority as most people seem to think he's the linch pin of the team

    Yep

Nicknamed 'Fairy Steps' where I sit, never been a lynchpin, powderpuff more like, and gives the ball away more than anyone else in the team. Makes you wonder what games people have been to that I havent, maybe its the same people who still think Hristov was world class.

Id be happy with two tall angry bstrds in midfield, the Championship formula does not include tippy tappy through the middle of the park.

    Agreed...

I think people think Colace is automatically good just because he is foreign.

He is not, IMHO, he is not up to it.

Quote from Mrs Hartog at Plymouth match

Attending her first ever game of football.

"Those two in the middle don't do much, the two blokes on the wings have to work twice as hard to do their jobs as well"

She just doesn't understand the game.
