quite an amusing little programme just finished on the telly, quite an eccentric and affectionate look at our best English boozers.

Got me thinking in a list-type blokey way....what would yours be.

    Mine are :-

    1. Victory, Pinner, my local for many a year when I lived down south
    1. Old Pavillion, Barnsley (RIP), greatest town centre pub we ever had
    2. Two Bridges, Rickmansworth, brilliant pub, even better manager
    4. Moulders Rest, Summer Lane, tolerant of every type of nonsence
    5. Butchers Arms, Witney, local for work, ale to die for
    6. Beaumant Arms, Netherton, my current favourite local
    7. Woolpack, Almondbury, our lasses local when I first met her
    8. Ash Inn, Wombwell, my local as a kid
    9. Butchers Arms, Hepworth, classic Yorkshire pub
    10. Fleece, Stainland, great Sunday afternoons.

    Any advance on these?

    BT

I vote for your pub opposite Whetherspoons(I think) in Huddersfield. They do a nice pint and one of the barmaids was fit, which is always a bonus.
I'll let you know next time I'm down :pff

Can I have my free pint now? (H)

I'll have to remember the name of it, I didn't think it was too bad. One of the barmaids was nice, and the group of lasses sat behind us were pretty tasty. Plus, the barman nearly gave us twice as much change which definitely scored points!

And, if I remember rightly it was a pretty cheap pint(in cost not taste).

    Yeah, No problem

Here's your free pint ... print this off and present it to the manager.

This voucher entitles "Guest" to a free pint of beer when he next visits the bar opposite Lloyds. Signed Border Terrier.

    See how you get on.

    :pff

I'm guessing the bar opposite Lloyd's is not yours! If there is one, because that was my first and only trip to Huddersfield.

One small request, more good looking barstaff, and less males. Thanks (Y)

    RE: Yeah, No problem

No, the bar opposite Lloyds is ours.

Yes, I will recruit more bootilicious girls for you.

Especially if you come to Huddersfield as often as once in a lifetime (on current form).

The business possibilities are endless, enjoy the free pint, our bar is called Chocolate (as in Jockey). Ask for Nigel.

Never got down Cross Keys too much, Ardsley girls thought Stairfoot too rough.

Susan Chambers, Julie Burroughs, Julie Bird, Stephanie Whatchermercaller, all lovely lasses.

I was in love with Burroughs (from afar), One of my greatest moments in life was when I snogged her at Dave Sykes party.

    Oh innocent days.

I did however manage to shag one of em

and before you start AIRY it was NOT GILLIAN BINGLEY

The Two Bridges is now a Harvester

Obviously couldn't hold out from the corporate chain as its quite big and therefore a good prospect. Area for drinkers is now about 10 foot square!</p>

    That's disappointing news

We used to go down every Friday dinner time in the late 80's. Dave Pitcher (honest) was the guv'nor and he used to get us royally pissed on Oranjeboom. He then gave us whatever was left from the carvery. We would be staggering about the office come 4 O clock chewing on big roast joints of meat.
