Some tenants want to get set up with broadband. Any ideas on the best deals? I'm thinking Tiscali. (No cable.)</p>

    I'm on Tiscali

It's been fine for me although I understand others have had problems. Some of the deals now on Tiscali are cheap as chips.

broadband and chips are a poor price comparison in my opinion. How many portions of chips? and can you get scraps for free?

    Actually

Tiscali broadband is much cheaper than chips. It's £6.49 per month with free wireless router. If you went on it every day it would work out at just over 20p per day. Chips are about £1.50 per portion. If you had those every day it would cost you £45 per month! Even with free scraps.

    So am I

and to be honest they have improved so I have decided to stay with them for now. If you take their line as well (instead of BT) you can get free line rental included free uk landline calls and free calls to most of Europe (Not Poland though) for under £20 per month

Biggest potential issue though is tied to a min 12 month contract so depends how long your tenants are likely to stay - there are some decent deals on rolling 1 month contracts though you need to pay the setup fee

They're settled in mate. The fact that they want to take out a contract is good news for us because they're brilliant tenants.

    RE: This looks good.

Pay their BB annual subscription for them and if they're on dial-up (if it still exists) heavily subsidise the cost of their calls. Oh, and hike up their rent...

    No

There is satellite service available though which allows pick up of Polish channels (amongst others) - I've seen some set up but you probably need to get in touch with a specialist installer and not sure how much that would coast.

    You're showing your age

The giving away of free scraps with chips was banned on 2nd Jan 2002.
EU Directive and procedure referred to in part XXIIV of Chips and Scraps Act outlawed the giving away of scraps as it deemed it a direct infringement of their fundemental rights recognised in the constitution of law as being a worthy fried food snack in its own right.

Admittedly, some traders simply reduced the cost of their chips by one penny and then charged those who wanted scraps the penny for the privelage.

    DO NOT GET TISCALI

If you use it beetween 5pm to 11pm its crap. Xbox live dunt work and its painfully slow. Get o2 £10 a month for 16mb if you have an o2 contract phone.

If you cannot get o2 go with BT or sky.
