Broadband Problem..

    Does anyone know of a reason why a broadband connection would go "stale" ie the only way to re-activate is to reboot the rooter?

    Is it the actual connection or the router that is causing the fault?

    Router I would have thought

    If it was the line, rebooting the router wouldnt fix it - rebooting the exchange might though

    you should check for....

    an update of the firmware-had exactly the same problem with a BT voyager-updating did the trick

    I've done that and admitedly it's reduced the occurence, but still it occurs...

    possibly yeas, but it's only happening now say once every six weeks or so...

    Check your little switch thingy that plugs into the box on the wall. I did it made a massive difference.

    did it work ????? </p>

    I'd like to claim credit but it was a lad at PC world suggested it before I started buyin new routers etc... my new widget cost approx &pound;5.</p>
