does anybody know how to check what speed your broadband is? I heard that BT are upgrading all of their broadband users but it only says between within a 6 month period. it doesnt say when each area gets done. Is there anythin i can check online or on my computer to tell me what speed im connecting at?

    my results are these

    Direction................Actual Speed..............True Speed

    Downstream.........473 Kbps (59.1 KB/sec).....510 Kbps
    Upstream.............246 Kbps (30.8 KB/sec)..... 265 Kbps (inc. overheads)

Does that mean im still on 512kb then?

Yes, it sure is. Especially when you consider that Blueyonder will be slightly more than that for a 10Mb connection!

I'd consider moving ISP is I was you

stuck in a contract for a few more months i think

btyahoo and wannado where the only providers that did internet in our area when we got broadband so we had no choice but to go for 512kb at that price.

i'll have to see when it runs out

    Errrr

Somethings not right here, you say your paying £29 a month?

Have a look below. I'd phone their customer services if I was you. Says you should be on a 2Mb line for that - unless I'm reading it wrong?

theyve lowered their prices since we took out the contract

it was £29 for 512kb or, get this, £27 for 1mb. but we couldnt get 1mb.

I think a call might be in order to check when the contract runs out and if theres anything that can be done
