Played football last night and one of the lads broke his tibia and fibula. From a 50/50 challenge aswell, both kicked each others leg and he came out worse!

Was right next to it and the sound was horrible. Looked even worse when got him to the hospital.

Saw a similar thing in cricket season last year.

Playing against Houghton Main, and one of their lads chased a ball to the boundary, bent down to pick it up and crack. Horrible. Looked so inocuous as well.

It was his wedding anniversary and he was only filling in for the day. Shocking. Had ambulance on pitch, and game stopped for 45 minutes.

Yeah it was really slippy, doesn't take much for that pitch to get like that though.

To be fair to him he was laughing and joking whilst waiting for ambulance, think the shock etc had kicked in. Went to hospital with him and once they took the leg brace off and cut the sock and shinpad it soon hit him.

Going to let him know this morning when they will operate

Hopefully it's a speedy recovery. Looked a big lad, may be the end of his 5-a-side days!?

Worst injury I had at Kendray was last summer, making a run I turned my head to see where the pass going and ran straight into a defender. The impact was at such a bizarre angle my forehead hit his front tooth which got stuck in me bonce!

3 hours in casualty trying to fish the thing out!

Blood gushing everywhere I wanted to play on Terry Butcher style after they bandaged me up but they wouldnt let me! Damn the HSE :)

Ive been offwork since last april

after breaking mi leg playing football on a sunday morning, did my tib and fib aswell, had a operation at barnsley on same day a nail through the bone and 4 screws, in october they decided it wasn'nt healing as fast as they wanted so got reffered to northen general at sheffield, on 1st december i had a external frame fitted to put mor pressure on it to heal, had a x-ray 2 week ago and its nearly healed, got to keep frame on for another 4 week, if i ever did it agian touch wood i wont, i would go straight to northen general.

Take it you played the old blokes in Blue? Always the same, they mouth off and throw a few elbows to try and scare you off.
