What an up and down weekend. Had a fantastic friday night out wiv my mates in town. Saturdays high with Macken in last minute, All time weekend low with broken fibula playing sunday league footy. Post op now with new metal leg, lol Anyway, enough with the rant. Id just like a bit of advice from people who may have or may have known someone go to games to watch the reds. i wanna go to Donny match away but i think i have to go in disabled end. i think Im alright with home games in my own seat in ponty tho. Only thing that will piff me off is when we are on attack or have a corner and everyone stands up. I will be sat darn like a reight tit.
I'd move to a less populated area. I only had a big toe nail removed and I moved from the Ponty for a couple of games so I didn't get it stood on. That was when we had the north stand split and I transferred there. Box office were great about it the first time and obstructive about it the second time (Sharon Hardware). Also had to move for half a dozen games when I used to sit in the east stand upper back in 1993. Had an arthroscopy and was on crutches for six weeks or so. Didn't bother sorting it officially that time, just gained entry with my upper tier ST and sat in one of the many empty seats on the lower tier.
My brother dislocated his knee in the promotion season. His season ticket was in the ponty but my mum went down the box office and they were brilliant. Moved him to a seat on the West upper, front row if memory serves. Going back some years like . . .
im just recovering from a broken fibula (left ankle) and went to wednesday game earlier on in season and i can tell you it is very annoying, whenever a goal goes in or we get close to penalty area everyone stands up and your just sat there guessing whats happening! how long you been told your out for? its been nine weeks since my injury and i cant start running on it for another couple of weeks.
cheers for the replys guys. Tarn_tyke, Im in pot for another 6 week then maybe i can start puttin weight on it. Im gonna return to footy I think but will probably leave it for another 12 month or possibly at start of next season (August 2010). Did you have an operation aswell.
I also dislocated my knee cap When we got promoted back up to the CCC. Did in October 2006 and i'd already purchased my ticket for Sunderland away, the hospital gave me a splint for my leg (no crutches though for f*ck sake). So i was left to hobble out of the coach, into the stadium and to my seat. It was unreserved seating that day luckily so i could find a seat to hang my leg out on the gangway. I had no worries of folk standing up and missing action though as we lost 2-0 that day.
Royston just a word of warning Iv'e just spent time in Barnsley Hospital with a fracture and met up with a guy who had had a broken leg, it was his 4th stay in. He had been discharged but in HIS words overdid things started up his weight training and running too soon and ended up with an infection in that leg, and after having the infected leg lanced on three occasions has a pump thing attached to the leg to drain out the infection and back in hospital... for the fourth time... he is now home but last I heard still had the pump thing on .... I know I cant wait to do same as I was doing before the fracture but being in the next bed to that lad made me very concious of doing just what the hospital advise.... Now 10 weeks for me and I have 80% movement back and so far no probs....
RE: Royston just a word of warning Son has metatarsal injury now confirmed as cruciate knee ligament damage.,awaiting operation with difficulty in moving his leg ,after speaking to officials at hillsborough was allowed in by disabled entrance at Sheff wed and found an alternate seat by head steward . speak to stewards at Donni ,i will be so my son can get in without damage through the turnstiles . at home talk to people at ground before home match day ,don't spring it on them at last minute so alternative arrangements can be made .usually quiet helpful.
