Offical Bruce Dyer Page Football is about opinions and I am so gutted that Bobby Hassell has been let go by barnsley fc . Over these last few years myself and bob have become really close friends . Bobby Hassell has been a fantastic servant to barnsley fc on and off the pitch , no player that I can think off in the last 15 years has served the club and the community in the capacity that Bobby has .The support via social net works from fans for Bobby says it all . I know first hand that Bob has a genuine love and care for barnsley fc and the people of barnsley . Bobby would meet up with church leaders at 6:30am in the morning when people are sleeping to pray for Barnsley FC , the chairman , the board , the staff , players , the community of barnsley . I say this not to make bob look good but so you can really understand his heart for Barnsley and the people of barnsley . I do find it very hard to accept that there is no role for him at the club ? someone with his experience and integrity is priceless but but we have to respect the clubs decision and move on . I know his name will be forever remembered at barnsley fc and I do pray that EVERY BARNSLEY supporter will give him the best send of at his testimony match and I pray it will be a day that Bobby will never ever forget . Although these last few days have looked liked a set back for bob we as Christians know this one thing that God has a way of making everything work together for good . There is so much more I could and want to say but I feel what I've said is enough . One of my favorite bible verses Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. The future is bright for the Hassell , my friend and a brother from another mother . A man of God who is blessed . #Bobby Hassell #Legend #Blessed #Friends4Life
The fact that people are talking about it so much shows just how highly regarded and respected he is. Its called respect, simple as that.
Why don't you get over that people want to talk about him? Ffs. Don't read it. The title was a giveaway on the subject matter.
This is just a guess whitey But Ive a feeling that the bobby hassell pot of **** you are going stir, is even bigger than the Keith pot youve been stirring for months. Arms like Popeye
Re: This is just a guess whitey You'll have to elaborate, pal. What exactly are you guessing/feeling? I saw this facebook status from a former BFC hero, regarding another BFC hero. I have said nothing in this thread myself. In other Bobby related threads, I've merely stated my disappointment and disagreement with the decision to release Hassell. So aye, you've lost me. Sorry.
It's just an odd one to take in. That only last week Mansford was on about us needing players who buy into not just the club but the whole town. We have a rumour going around players will have to live within 25 miles of Oakwell. So we release a player who fits all that criteria. Who despite us losing week in week out was left rotting on the bench for two months when he should have played. On the otherhand we offer a new contract to Dawson who acts like he does to fans at the Huddersfield game and has a court issue over him. To me the whole situation looks ridiculous.
At the end of the day Bobby played barely two hours of football over a 46 game season. He was never going to be offered another contract. Danny didn't fancy him just like the previous few managers didn't, these are professional people whose jobs are on the line if they don't pick up results so they are obviously going to put the best side out that they can. Bobby's problem could be that, a bit like Kelvin Etuhu, it's hard to tell what his best position is. Is it right back, centre back, centre midfield, or goalkeeper?
In my honest opinion Danny made a lot of mistakes. To not play Bobby was one. To release him is another. Wish he'd not come back - I had such good memories of him (except for him walking out on us just before the start of the season of course).
Hassell has been a great servant to the club and IMO has been treated unfairly for whatever reason by the last two managers, but all this Sir Bobby stuff is frankly an embarrassment. Should have gone last season and the club for me have made the correct decision releasing him.
Personally think Bobbys been a great servant to the club but I totally understand the clubs decision to move him on. Sent from my D5503 using Tapatalk
Re: This is just a guess whitey You've got the wrong end of the stick. Again. "It's oreight" I said, as in, it's okay. I wasn't correcting your (purposely done) spelling of a word. With my own mis-spelling? Think about it.
