Barnsley FC Fans My chance to CLEAR THIS UP after all these years. Yes I was on a good goal bonus at BFC but what this article never mentioned and I'm sure the chronicle were never told that I took a MASSIVE PAY CUT when I signed the contract I was on which included this goal bonus to stay at barnsley . I had a genuine love for the club and the fans hence the reason I was prepared to take a massive cut , the previous season I could of left the club to sign for a bigger club and jumped ship but I always had a heart to progress with the REDS . I NEVER WANTED TO LEAVE BARNSLEY and if I be honest I was left with no option . I had already taken a massive pay cut on my last contract as I said and I was offered a deal that A MUG wouldn't sign which left me with no option and even then I was hoping the club would come back with something but that never happened . I remember as clear as day the end of that season after it was clear I was leaving that the WATFORD MANGER Ray Lewington hunted me down with calls and texts pursuing me to sign for WFC and as much as I had love for my first ever club WFC my heart was set in South Yorkshire but I ended up signing for Watford Fc and if I be honest I don't think my second spell at Watford went well especially my first season and the second season was ok ( thank you hornet fans for your patience ) although some did give me stick . As I have mentioned before on FB I kept my house in barnsley empty for 2 years because deep in my heart I always knew I was coming back to South Yorkshire (barnsley ) and here I am back in South Yorkshire working in lots of schools in barnsley , working regularly in a South Yorkshire prison and extremely happy with where I am (barnsley ) and happy about the work we are doing . All of which I'm convinced was Jesus Christ's plan for me and although many wouldn't and can't get there head around that it's the truth . I wish nothing BUT GOOD FOR BARNSLEY FC and yes it's a tough time but God willing things will change and I'm convinced that the owner Patrick Cryne who has had some stick over the years is a true red and has Barnsley FC best interests at heart and loves the club . That Chronicle article I think was written at the height of their disdain for the club, it was almost as if they couldn't wait for the club to go completely out of business as it would no doubt increase their circulation the week after.
Apart from a certain good mate of mine down in London*, I don't think I know anyone who begrudge's Brucie's goal bonus. What would we give for him now? *he used to go by the name Direwatch!
