    Just found out through reading comments on photos on Facebook... apparently he was classed as being better than Beckham at school.

    I heard Joe Cole didn't start playing football till he was 15 not sure if it's true or not.

    Footballers must peak and trough at different stages. A lot of the England Under 18's never made it. Paul Burton for one.

    Just looked him up on Wikipedia and it turns out West Ham turned down a £10 million offer for him when he was 16
