Have we actually thought that the players that we have retained, have been so poorly trained, that they are having to relearn how to play football. The new ones have to blend with these and be able to work as a team. And that is in Duff's style. I'm not a happy clapper... I believe duff has a load of work on his hands. Personally, I'll judge him after 20 games.. Tonight can be chalked off. I knew that from the starting 11, duff is seeing what everyone else can do. I don't think any cup game is deemed important to duff/the board this year.. and are seen as a free hit, to check out the rest of the players he's got. Holding our position in this league for this season, then build and attack next year is all we can expect.
How many of these players will we lose with them shining whilst bedding in? Will we have to start from scratch after sales of Benson, Cadden or Aitchison? I get the transition point but at the end of the day the moneys in the Championship.
I got the feeling last season that there is something fundamentally wrong in the football set up of the club and as yet not seeing a change in this. The right person will turn it round but if there is the slightest inkling of this then it will take time and the right person needs to be backed and given time. Before people jump on, backing is not necessarily about spending money.
