Being an avid reader and sometimes poster on this board I have found this week quite tedious and at times some of the comments hard to take in.I'm sure deep down we all want the best for the club and by that I include the board ,manager and players at Oakwell not forgetting the most important people at any club the fans.Does anybody on here genuinely think that the club aren't trying there best to bring in the best players they can possably get to help us achieve our Championship status?Every player so far mentioned whether it be from league 1/2 or even the Premiership as been scoffed at.I for one am not clairvoyent so I don't know what the future holds but I will remain patient and optimistic that the club get it right.

    if truth be told brian

90% of it is, is as a result of being thrashed by the pigs at oakwell. Its a difficult one to swallow and as a result the fansare using every single stick they can find to beat the club with.

We all want that mate, the thing thats getting on the fans backs is not so much the appointment of Davey, it's the comical way in which Barnsleyfc and mainly the Board are constantly going about the business of running a football club.
How many timeshave we been let down by so called transfer targets, only to be kicked in the teeth some days later when everyone was anticipating a deal only to be told that the club want to much or the player in question does not want to come or the wages are crap.
When the club starts to treat the paying public with some respect and not like thick mumptys then they will have the respect they deserve. In the mean time , and speaking of a fan who as watched them for over 30 years, and sick of false promises and lies and the lack of ambition at the begining of the season, we would'nt be in this mess now. The club is run by novices. (titanic)

rubbish, all the negativity comes from the fact that bfc will sign no players of any quality whilst all the relegation threatened teams around will push the boat out and do something about their position in the league.
box office players,2 million to spend what a load of bull, plus league 1 and 2 players are not good enough to keep you in the championship,i honestly believe we are allready relegated yet the board keeps pillocking us regarding signings that will keep us up etc etc

    its a combination of :

    1. Beaten at home with relative ease by our closest rivals and having that result rammed down our throats
    2. Losing versus Wolves with a fairly inept performance, in the vein as QPR and Leicester games.
    3. Appointing Simon Davey (im prepared to wait and see) who isn't exactly an inspirational appointment
    4. Allegedly bidding £200,000 for a player who other clubs have bid more than.
    5. Slipping back into the relegation zone - I don't think people can bare the thought of having to watch us play at home to Yeovil again.

The board are Barnsley people and absolutely have Barnsley at the forefront of their priorities and will be doing their absolute best to keep us up.

For me the frustrations have borne from the above factors, most of all its slowly dawning on me that it's highly unlikely we will stay up unless something changes drastically. I think there was a chance to change things drastically when we had the opportunity to appoint an experienced and charismatic manager. which we failed to do.

    let's face it

we've just been promoted and most people are finding it hard to adapt to us being at the wrong end of the table.

it's not the end of the world quite yet, but for most of us it seems like our toes are over the edge and we're about to take a dive.

Dont think they want us to be relegated as such but it seems to me that the board isnt prepared to spend the money which is clearly needed to give us a chance of staying up and are already planning for Div 1 again next season ie signing Div 1 players and a cheap manager. It costs less to run a club in the lower leagues, of course the income is less as well - especially when we have only 5000or 6000 turning up for Barnsley v Brighton instead of 21000 against the fowls

The fact is, our toes are well and truly on the edge, we are donning our Speedos and have our diving cap on.

    Yeovil?

Will probably pass us going the other way.

There is always Cheltenham to look forward to.

Wait a minute, some people on here are happy with Davey's appointment?

Come on lads, we've gone for the cheap option, its a massive gamble & we've probably turned down more experienced managers away for the job. We are getting ready for division one surely everyone can see that, I hope I'm wrong though

Towndude - sums up the general feeling of the board

everybody, looking at the situation Barnsley FC are in, in terms of league position, finances, players and manager can see why are likely to go down. Because we are all Barnsley supporters we hope our heads are wrong and that we manage to stay up, but it just seems very unlikely at the moment.

but I hope I'm wrong :pff

must be one of the most used phrases (especially by me) in recent weeks on here
