After a whistle-stop visit to the UK the Burgundy Red tour has finally arrived in Oslo. Having been here for a few hours my first impressions are that the prices make Stockholm's look like a 99p shop clearance sale. I think that means I'll be cooking for myself, although my kitchen appears to be INSIDE a cupboard so that might not be much of an option either. Or I could drown my sorrows in the pub, and with them my chances of early retirement.

No, I think it's going to have to be 11 weeks of clean living and boring the pants off you lot in the evenings. It might be wise to add me to your "ignore lists" now.

    Oslo tip

If you fancy going to see Edvard Munch's 'Scream', it is not in the Edvard Munch musuem, as I foolishly presumed. It is in the National Gallery.(Or at least it wasn't when I was there, maybe they've swapped it back again for a lark). </p>

    Now I remember...

Yes, you'reright,it had been, but then it was recovered. When I got there it was being restored (smiled weakly at curator after long cold trudge through snow). However, she explained there was another version in the National Gallery. So I walked there. Both musuems are free, which is a bit of a result in Oslo.

    Hiya. You've been quiet lately . . .

I will, just as soon as I've figured out what it is. Or more to the point, where anything sent to me goes. I'm always a bit thick when it comes to that practical kind of thing.

The place looks to be full of pretty flash houses, or at least flash apartments. And very flashy bars and restaurants. Not for the likes of me. I had "peasant food" meat stew for lunch and leftover Ham and English mustard sarnies that Mrs Burgundy Red made me for the journey. None of that sushi nonsense or the like for me. Mind you, I've not found the chippy yet, which is a bit worrying.

I've been very kindly PM'ed a few recommendations. I plan to take a ride out to Holmenkollen at the weekend for a look round - sounds promising and uncharacteristically healthy.
