    Yes, forgot about that, Ian.

But I wonder how many people have actually even heard about the Burnden Park disaster?

It's incredible how something like that goes under the radar considering the exposure the Hillsborough disaster gets.

Slightly off topic, but I was in New York last week and visited the memorial of the 9/11 disaster. What I never knew was that there was a terrorist attack on one of the twin towers back in 1993 when 6 people were killed. Ironically the day I visited coincided with the 23rd anniversary of this particular incident. However I have never heard or read anything about this disaster prior to seeing a sign at the site which commemorated it.

Sent from my I-Oven using the internets

I knew about the terrorist attack on the twin towers, it was a bomb in a truck which exploded outside the buildings.

Never heard of the Burnden Park disaster though.

    Anyone remember Ibrox?

Archey I seem to remember some sort of attack on the towers. Think it was a car bomb in the basement garage. Obviously not big enough to have caused too much damage. Although with 6 people being killed you'd think it would be remembered.

I remember the 93 attack. I remember thinking how unusual as the US hadn't experienced much on shore terrorism before. Never heard of the Burnden Park disaster.

66 to be precise. Wasn't the first Ibrox disaster. They had another about 1902 after a riot in an Old Firm Derby.

The FBI were in on it (ie knew in advance) and actually provided the explosives for the bombs I do believe. All proven in documented tape recordings at the time.

The Burden Park one was a game between Bolton and Stoke according to BBC.
