    No doubt they get decent crowds based on the population of the town but that's a bit misleading because Burnley isn't a Metropolitan Borough like Barnsley. Burnley and Barnsley have roughly the same population (around 74,000) but we get quoted as being 240,000 because Hoyland, Royston, Penistone etc are included in the total. The Borough of Pendle (100,000 which includes Nelson & Colne) is just as close to Burnley as Penistone, Hoyland and Royston are to Barnsley so they're not much different to us really. They currently average a couple of thousand more because we're at the bottom and they're at the top

    I know for sure if we were second in the league we would be getting more than 12k at home games
