I remember saying just under a year ago (and I would because I normally get these things hopelessly wrong!) that Burnley would do well with the very strong signings they were making. Who do people think will make a good crack at it this time around? No one jumps to mind straight away... even if it is only early days still. I would have money on Ipswich grossly underpeforming v expectations (ala QPR this time around)and Middlesbrough are certainly preparing for a long stay.
This time last season, Burnley were the favourites to be relegated. We were second favourites and Blackpool were 3rd. So, there, meh. For, me, watch out for Leicester.
RE: This time last season, Burnley were the favourites to be relegated. Burnley made good strong signings and no-one seemed to notice!
Especially the bookies. They spent large, and spent well. Chris Eagles. Kevin MacDonald et al... Good signings at a good price; a gamble, and it payed off.
RE: Especially the bookies. Paterson looked a good buy at £1M. Scored 12 goals in 39 league starts, another 5 in 7 LC appearances. 22 yrs old now.
This time last year i predicted... ------------- 22.Burnley 23.Swansea 24.Doncaster How wrong was I. Good luck to them in the premier league, very similar club to us but with a very good manager in Owen Coyle, and some better players than us. I wouldn't begrudge them success.
