Best day out of the year.

Decent priced quality ale in every pub.

    Proper old fashioned friendly establishments.

No snobbery from other patrons about what you drunk.

I remember saying similar in 2004 (or thereabouts) when we visited Rushden and Diamonds.

Burton is the flagship town of some top Breweries.
All the beer is good. If a pub has any complaint about beer the Brewery will send a van out and change it pronto.
Worked there a while and beer was brilliant

Did anyone try out either of the two Micro Pubs? The Middle Earth (next to the station) is quite a new one and serves some great beers.

My favourite pub in Burton is The Cooper's (again near the station), great atmosphere and fantastic selection of beers.

    Great place for beer drinkers.

    Went in middle earth twice.

    Proper little pub.

First ale was in roebuck then middle earth then yp towards ground.
Derbyshire arms was decent. That was my favourite pub for the day.

Strangest was one just off the main road.

    Sold lottery tickets as well.

    Bit royston vasey.

I think you mean the Devonshire Arms (The Devy to the locals). That's about 50 yards from The Cooper's, shame you missed it.
