Never a championship player in the memory of man,I hope he improves his passing or we'll never get the extra 25k for them to stay up. great.
Yeah, but he could be their equivalent of Dreamboy. Some I've seen around the net seem quietly confident about him, and so does our assistant manager, evidently.
to be honest i thought the general consensus was that he is a decent player but not good enough for the championship, but i suppose - what the f*ck do they know good luck to the lad but my point is if we are throwing him into the first team then its a pretty huge risk. if we are forced into signing unproven players (and i don't know if we are) then we are taking a huge risk. it look a hell of a lot of effort and luck to get into this league and i am a bit concerned about taking risks with unproven lower league players to keep us up.
RE: to be honest "if we are forced into signing unproven players (and i don't know if we are) then we are taking a huge risk" Surely if we are being FORCED (i.e. can't afford anything else) then it isn't "taking a huge risk" as there is no viable alternative. What we have isn't good enough (we know) and the players we are signing ('unproven' ones) may or may not be, so what are we to do? Not buy the players and go down with the same squad that probably shouldn't have been good enough to go up last season, or build the squad up with players that MIGHT prove to be better than the current crop and see what happens? I don't see the risk myself, the changes have to be made, and if proven quality and experience isn't within our reach we have no alternative but to gamble on new players. It's if we are NOT being forced into signing lower league players, but are still choosing to do so then it could be considered a footballing risk, rather than the financial risk of bringing in higher profile players on higher wages.
i see what you mean - but you can still force youself into things because of financial constraints, yet still have other options which you choose not to take - hence a risk
depends if they are good enough doesn't it? i am not saying they won't be good enough but if we are signing players who don't improve the team then we will go down. we will also be lumbered with poor players.
does not matter what the bury fan thinks about him...............the barnsley manager's view is the only one that counts.
