    This quote is amusing.

"It's a work in progress. As a coach, I've got to make sure we're getting players in the right areas and try to infiltrate what they are doing with the precision and movement I'm trying to bring to club."

    What does this even mean?

He talks undiluted ****. Probably because he's drowning in reality. He uses his words as an attempt to cover that.

I still love him. Don't want him anywhere near Oakwell like but I can't help have a special place for him. Special human.

The one that only has one word in it.
Begins with B and ends with S. Its the only he's fluent in.

He always talked ****. He talked just as much when he was doing well for us and he did when things were going wrong. That's just who is, he's an extremely complex character. I don't hold it against him though, but I did quickly stop listening to his interviews and I can't say I'd relish a night out with him. He would probably feel the same about me, if he had any idea who I am.

Still think of him fondly though. The great escape was fantastic.

I'm so happy we've got Danny Wilson as a manager, I wouldn't want to change that for the world, but I really don't think we showed Flicker enough loyalty after what he'd done for us.

Me neither. But he's a barmpot and I'm glad he's not our manager. Would hope the Bury fans stick with him though. But the pressure will always be on him this season because they've spent a fortune. Using money they've loaned against the ground, with 10% interest a month is it?

    Football's complex, dunno about DF.

He's a barmpot for sure and I wouldn't swap Wilson for Flicker even if he came with £100 million, but in an ideal world I would have liked us to give him all last season and bring Wilson in for this one. We would have gone down under Flicker, but we went down anyway.

It wouldn't last that long with him in charge anyway!

Couldnt go soon enough for me. Once the tub thumping had stopped working quite so effectively it was clear that the guy didnt have a clue. We got rid and brought in a proper manager.

I think Flitcroft is amazing, outstanding, and gifted.

I also think he was probably sacked by us two or three games too late.

I didn't want him to be sacked, but I'm glad he was.

Nothing will ever top the second half of that season. It was beautiful.

You've summed up my feelings perfectly with that sentence.

But apart from the sacking, I still can't really work out how I feel about him. Flicker talks absolute nonsense most of the time, but I can't help wishing that he'd been successful here. At the same time, I don't think I could have coped with him for a moment longer. I'm not sure he's even a complex character, much as I hate to disagree with Jay. He's just unhinged, but sort of in a good way. And exhausting.

One thing I do feel though: even if we get promoted this year, win the Championship next year and finish in the top four the year after, I'm probably not going to love following Barnsley as much as I did that season when he kept us up. So in that way, maybe he's like the Pied Piper. Enthralling, but a little bit creepy.

Can you tell it's Saturday night and I've just got home?

That's a very good way of describing the situation.

Aye all those that were lapping up his interviews whilst we were escaping are now his biggest critics, Same goes for some of those with KHiller.

Loyalty this is Barnsley FC. The search goes on.

I thought he talked **** since day 1. He did a great job keeping us up but his interviews were tedious, management speak and buzz words is a pet hate of mine.

Mine too, but we all fall into the usage of trendy sayings, buzzwords or quotes, trouble with Flicker was he used to tag them together one after other and they would come out undecipherable or leaving yer feeling as though you may know what he was on abart but cant 100% be certain.

Ironic that 'buzz words' is also a buzz word.

You can see why he managed to pull off the great escape. I doubt any other manager we've had in recent time could have replicated that. Right time, right place, 'his' players etc granted. It was a nothing to lose situation. He probably spent most of his playing career in the lower leagues battling similar. But fair play to him for achieving it.

That speech he gave to the players in the dressing room post Hudds still gets me. Genuine blowk, bit crackers and was punching well above his weight.
