Did you hear the story about the bus that broke down on the way to Cardiff? Well me and 9 of my mates were on that Bus. We didn't get there until half time, where we were greeted by around half a dozen fans leaving to go to the pub because they said we were s-hite. At least we got to see the good stuff. The day started disasterously when the 24 of us getting on the bus found there to be only 10 seats left leaving 14 having to arrange their own transport. Fortunately, one of the lads had access to a minibus (for 9) and one of the other lads got his car (for 5). We got set of at 7.45 (due to set off at 7) so we thought we were OK. Until the bus broke down on the M5, 5 miles from M50. When we phoned the other lads they just laughed to start with, until I reminded them that I had 22 of the 24 peoples tickets.....not so funny then was it. Fortunately the lads in the car were behind us so pulled up to collect the tickets needed. After alot of swearing and cursing etc, the replacement bus arrived for us and we finally got set off at 1pm. Most of the bus had got off to fill two good samaritan minibuses that stopped (amazingly they were both empty except for the drivers of each) which left about 22 of us. We thought we were in with a chance until we hit them f*****g road works. It was then that it hit us properly what this meant. We weren't going to get there for the teams warming up, or them coming out of the tunnel or the kick off. There were almost real tears when we had to listen to the first half on BBC Radio Wales, which by the way is a very biased station. So we got there at 3.55, saw all the great stuff and then left the stadium. But it doesn't stop there!! We went to the coach park to find that our bus wasn't there. We didn't have a phone number fopr the driver because during the panic of getting off the bus to get to the ground, my mate lost the number. So we had no bus. We spent 40 mins in the cop shop to phone the bus company and get the number of the driver, only to find he was parked directly outside the ground near Yates. We got set off home after 8pm, but it was a good journey home. Just think of them lads that left at half time - any comments for them?
Yep, passed you by I was going to ask what happened to the people on the broken down mini bus we had passed (sorry, we had no room!). Still, at least you saw the good stuff, while the nobheads that left at half time deserved everything they (didn't) get. We were only one down!
RE: I honked as I drove past Plenty of people honked as they drove past!!!!! Does anyone know where we stand for compo? Paid £29 for coach and missed half the match, surely due something back!!
RE: I honked as I drove past I got told off for being cruel when I honked. I said you'd probably just stopped to water the plants.
what bus number was that? (if it was an official coach) also reminds me of a smoking MG we drove past somewhere in wales. proper funny lol.
Dunt no bus number exactly, but there were 13 going from Outpost/Chennels altogether and guess which one we were on!!!
