They usually recruit people from my workplace to help at the polling stations and counting votes. They didn't this time. Maybe they've cut back on numbers which slows the process?
Went as soon as I finished work at 5 and there was only me in there. A couple came in as I was walking out though.
And me - first time I've queued to get a paper. Woman on the desk asked if we'd all arrived by bus ! They were pouring in as well when I left
Been rammed here on the Barnsley south, the feeling is round here Stephanie Peacock is no more. Far too early to tell mind.
I voted today in probably the same place as you judging by your name. There were only 3 of us in there around 4pm.
Be a shame if that's true, replacing her with the tax dodging hypocrite that is David White would be disgraceful.
Dead where I went at 10.30 this morning & we had 25 minutes in the park afterwards. I saw one car come & go during that time & didn’t see anyone walk in either.
Just heard on ITV it’s the lowest turnout expected since 2001. Not really a surprise, Labour getting a huge majority but there doesn’t appear to be much enthusiasm for Starmer.
Turnout for Barnsley North and South was under 50%. Barely anyone was bothered in our household, one vote out of three.
2nd lowest turnout in modern history. 40% of people either couldn't find anyone to vote FOR or know that their vote is not going to be heard. Eventually people turn away from democracy when they know they don't have a say.
