We as fans in reality have no rights to know the nuts and bolts of day to day dealings, however as paying customers and being told countless times they are working to bridge the gap to fans it’s only getting wider.
I know a few who haven’t renewed due to the fan experience .
We seemed to replace a blatant liar with a none existent CEO.

I think as fans everyones concerned more than anything. Season nearly here and we are alot weaker than last year. If we get players in they need time to settle. Just seems like were constantly on the back foot

We had an opportunity to address that over the summer but year on year we seem to go with, let’s go with what we’ve got then realise we are woefully short.
Of course the usual suspects will blurt BS like nobody is making signings or we are waiting for the Euro players to return to their clubs, all absolutely bobbins of course and quantity over quality isn’t the right approach but other clubs have actually made countless signings to bed players in before kick off rather than waiting till the day after the window shuts to name a Shaw, Dallas,Watters, Cotter, Russell or the rest of the dross and no TtTF and A I’m not saying these were announced in that way.

The reality is we are now in our natural position within the pyramid, we aren’t a championship club anymore, we just can’t compete financially, the best chance we have is dropping on a good manager & good crop of youngsters to elevate us. As it is now we are in transition, we’ve lost key first team players, but can’t replace them. This coming season screams out a mid table finish, the key thing is keeping hold of this manager long term, something we are terrible at, & slowly building a side to challenge for promotion & to make the step up straight away if we are successful. Changing managers every season will only hold us back.

I haven't renewed because of the annual shitshow which leaves us weaker than the previous one.
How much weaker can we get year on year until eventually we disappear up our own arseholes.

I agree but why not be honest about new signings (or complete lack of)? All this about getting new players in for preseason training then for the camp at Loughborough, busy week coming up then it’s delayed until the week after etc. None of it is doing the club any favours at all. I was very happy with Clarke as new boss but I hope the lack of squad strengthening he was promised isn’t making him regret it already. We just continue to shoot ourselves in the foot it seems.

The appointment of the very definition of a lower league journeyman manager should tell you all you need to know.

Can't see what all the doom and gloom is about to be honest. Why not judge the club properly when the team have played a few games and the window is closed?
We've no idea what's going to happen yet. Personally I'd rather the club sign no one if all they do as an alternative is to bring in more kak.
Bottom line is there's no point speculating till everything's done and dusted. We may very well be crap when the season's started but equally we may very well be much better than a lot of people think. The key appointment was the manager and he's in post. Lets see how he sets them up.

I came to the conclusion years ago,we are now a league one club with the odd flirtation with the championship.

Can't see what your problem is TBH, the club chases targets, some opt to go elsewhere , other clubs are reluctant to release players until they know where they are replacement wise, its always the same.
I'd sooner have a structured recruitment system than a scattergun lets go sign somebody to keep some fans quiet approach!

Our squad as it is will hold its own somewhere around mid table I’d guess. Think we’ll be stronger at the back and better organised. The issue to me is where the goals will come from? Cole & McAtee accounted for over 30 league goals last year.

Given we've often not done the majority of our business before the season has started in the past, and done well, I'm not sure what the fuss is about really either. If anything, it's bedding the new gaffer in gradually.

I've tried to stay away from these sorts of discussion all summer because ultimately, I'd be wasting my time. Last summer, a particular poster on here was upset with the managerial appointment, upset about losing a friendly to a Blackburn reserve team, upset about us selling Norwood the day before the season started, and then when we won the first game 7-0, he said we shouldn't get carried away and that we should wait 10 games before passing judgment on Collins. Without a hint of sarcasm.

No promotions out of league one, although he has been relegated out of league one.
