Does anyone know why he, and O'Driscoll for that matter turned us down..I cant be arsed to trawl through all the threads.
Our lack of ambition - and by implication, unwillingness to invest in progress. That's the only construction you can put on it. After all, that's why we lost a damn good promising young manager like Mark Robins.
Hindsight my friend.....hindsight. I can't remember many Reds fans moaning/crying in their pint pots when Robins walked? Just because he's in a little purple patch with Coventry, whilst simultaneously BFC have had a sh!te 2012 with Hill in charge, it makes Robins look like Alex Ferguson.
I suppose only they will know the real reasons why but SO'D said basically that the timing was wrong for him to return to work so soon. I suspect there's a bit of compo going on their as well. Butcher preferred to see his job out at ICT having done well there so far this season. Both understandable reasons but this is a really tough job - one of the toughest in football, from a certain point of view. It's hardly surprising that managers aren't jumping at the chance.
Agreed......but what I like about Ince is that he clearly would not be in this for the money as he is easily financially secure for life (having had lucrative contracts at West Ham, Man Utd, Liverpool, Inter Milan)...........he would be here for the challenge and that is what we want.........a leader. It'll be a tough challenge.
