I'd be a bit gutted if he went to either of them.

Robins held him back for 3 years when with us, so maybe Jacob would tell him to **** off anyway, he's out of our price range now, so we'll not be getting him back, but if he dose move on i wish him nothing but good luck with his new club, and his new club nothing but bad luck if its Wednesday or Leeds

The last thing we need is another midfielder...centre back and striker should be the priority, two centre backs if Cranie does one.

we'll need a midfielder in January though if we can't extend the contracts of Dawson Perkins and Melis before hand, so if we had any chance what so ever of getting him back id jump at it,

Made a mistake leaving us when he did. Should've at least stayed till January last year to test himself after his Injury. Will be in league 1 IMHO soon enough.

    Robins brought Butterfield through perfectly.

I think he was vastly under used & signing Mellis was wasted when we had Butterfield there ready and waiting.

Although he did start playing him regularly the end of the season.

Not sure it was a mistake, just the low risk, sensible option. He was coming back from a serious injury and might never have been the same player. In that situation he had the option of:

    1. Staying at Tarn on a Tarn level contract - ok, he might come back and prove himself and make it to the Prem. But if it turns out he is knackered he's just got the slow descent into the lower leagues and then all of a sudden he's 34 with what I presume are a crap set of GCSE results and no real career plan.

    OR

    2. Get a fatter contract in the Premier League. He gets a shot at the big time, if it doesn't work out his next move will be to a club likely to pay more than Barnsley anyway, and if it turns out he's knackered he's got a bit more cash lining his pocket.

I'd take choice number 2 any day of the week.

Another who jumped ship at the wrong time.

Would be a good signing for any Championship club if a manager can find the form he showed with us before he got injured and left.

I saw him at half time at Hull away the other season when he was injured before he left. You could tell his mind was already made he was leaving so for me, not the DNA Flicker wants. We've got enough midfielders anyway
