Played his last game for us then, or maybe scuppered his chances of a move?

Dirty fecker but that's the Leeds way. That's his move definitely on ice so no chance of a transfer fee unless he signs a new contract.

Re: hope michael brown is proud of himself

Great stuff. So we're without Butterfield, as expected, yet won't be getting the (up to) £2m and therefore have no money for a replacement. I haven't seen the incident again yet, but I saw it at the game and the Brown challenge appeared to come in after the whistle had gone. "A free one" as a 1970's clogger would have called it. I would like to hear Grayson explain the challenge. It's not as if Brown is famous for anything else.

But this also highlights why players will take the big money move if they get the chance. They are one injury away from the beginning of a new career. If this had happened, say, during his first game for Villa reserves, he would still be out for a year, but with £10-15k coming into his bank account every week. Now, it's unlikely he'll get a big move in the next couple of years, he'll be left with a lovely choice at the end of the season - sign the new contract with us or ask his agent to find him someone willing to pay good money for someone on crutches (I think we're the only team that is usually willing to do that!) and any chance of playing for the Olympic team is out of the window.

In all, a very costly assault for BFC and even more so for Butterfield. Let's hope some of the nonsense that is spouted on here about him can stop at least, because he's only young and I can only guess at what must be going through his mind at the moment.

Michael Brown - I hope you're proud of yourself.

We do get a fee determined by a tribunal if he does go, as he's under twenty four.

It wont be anywhere near as much as we would have got in a transfer fee.

Is he defo out for the season, Hilly said on P&G out for 3 weeks, if he is and out of contract, its a massive shame we will get bugger all for him and england U21 squad player, the tribunal should be set above a million for the potential

What annoys me the most is that the challenge by Brown was cynical and we've lost an important player and the chance to reinvest money as a result.

I'd like to see it again, not the best view from the back of the Ponty. Did look like he was taken out. I'm pretty sure he had an easy ball to put Davies in but chose to cut inside to look to shoot.

I was talking to the coaching staff before the game today (my daughter was mascot again today) and they definitely think it was deliberate. There was also another quote that was interesting " it was what happened afterwards that was even worse" . Obviously he wouldn't expand on that, and I have no idea if it was something that happened on the bench, in the changing rooms, or in the players' lounge after, but they are not happy with Leeds.
