sorry if this as already been posted, but ive been too pissed off after sat to read anything, yes the striker sittuation is a big problem.we know that simon it as been for a season and half, this is nothing new now.But what as annoyed me today is the fact that we are also going to be looking to strengthen in the middle.I watched butterfield and yes he looks very good in our side more than i can say for the flying french winger ,is it not now to give this lad a run in the side and if hes not good enough then farewell.he aint going to get experiance in the reserves. Is there some politics here that simon didnt sign him for tha academy or we dont want academy lads coming through , i wonder .I dont understand also why we have a natural left back on the bench and van hom as a nightmare at left back ,as hes natural right footer,to be fair ha as played well at right back. But couldnt simon see we were getting murdered on the left. Why not give Luke Potter a game isnt it better the devil you know ,look what we have done, teale what a waste of space, whaley **** me,give our youngsers a chance at least they will wear the feckin shirt rant over.

I agree with you about butterfield he should have started, But I thought van homoet played fairly well.

Rigters was a waste of space we should send him back to Blackburn

Butterfield couldn't get a league two club to take him on loan.
Seen him play a lot in the reserves and has had the odd game where he looks useful but the 15 mins you saw on Sat is about the best he gets. We need someone with an eye for goal in that midfield a player who makes late runs in to the box, he is not that kind of player.

I agree that Butterfield should have started and looked comfortable when he came on. The concern for me would be that if he wasn't chosen with all the midfield missing then under what circumstances would he ever be selected? With three strikers already starting on Saturday, I am not sure the kind of player identified by bfcbub was required in that game. Surely Butterfield would have been better in the middle than a left winger?

    He's 17/18 FFS!

so you're saying if he isn't good enough already then let him go?

agbonlahor was on loan at wednesday a couple of years ago and they all said he was *****...look at him now. a lot can happen in a few years...he's training with the first team and playing with some of them in the reserves. he's still developing as a player, give him chance.

the same can be said about RNL. davey said straight away when he played him..."we will put him in when the time is right, and then take him out of the limelight for a while". he doesn't want to be playing him every game and having the press all over him...it would ruin a real talent. we'd also see fully grown men sything down a talented 15 year old.

davey has said he is going to have a bigger role in the academy and to me that means he will develop players in the way he wants to. he has recognised the failings of the academy and is trying to remedy it. two players he highlighted in his time with the academy were RNL and buttefield. both have played for the first team since. i think when he has a more hands on role in the academy we'll start to see more lads coming through.

it's hard for kids in the academy because they don't know what they need to do to get the manager to think they're ready. i think davey will make it pretty clear what they need to do from now on.

on a brighter note, jamil adam looks a useful player...i think in the next 1/2 years he could really show him worth.

He played well on saturday. If he was on for the full game I think we would have seen him shine. We cannot afford to keep losing games like that, Davey definately needs to get a desent striker to put all those chances away.
