not slagging the kid off cause been playing really well this season but anyone else think hes not the best choice? hes young and still learning his trade in the team, watched him yesterday and he didnt seem to be talking to the players / organising them? shouldnt hill have picked a more experiance player? as mentioned not slagging him off at all just not sure if butters if the correct choice?
nar good choice for me barry he leads by example, top tackler at club and also shots and shots and target.
yeah like i mentioned wasnt slagging the kid off and my comments might be wrong, i just awlays thought the best position for a captian is center half least then your always facing your team mates and can organise better, wouldnt know who would be better just seeing what other peoples opinions were
Hill didn't seem bothered about captains in pre season - didn't he say he wanted 11 of them on the pitch
well weve got hassell for the off field stuff. in first team we have steele hassell foster edwards jaymac gray o'brien doyle who dont really need captaining also rnl clark rose stones have all said they look up to him.
The senior players, particularly at the back, will organise themselves whoever the captain is. They won't hang around waiting for Butterfield to have his say. I always thought that England played a masterstroke having Shearer as captain, because he seemed to win more free kicks and give less away being the captain. Referees are pretty easy to influence as we saw last night.
