This was mentioned earlier about Portsmouth, not coping with life back in the Championship, and it could be the inevitable and immediate relegation again for them.
Birmingham spent ridiculously in the recent August 'window', and their aim apparently is to not only buy promotion. But it's also to try and stay up and be competitive again, if/when they do get back to the Championship.
Not surprisingly their fans defend it, and say every other club would do the same, if they could. And anybody who criticises it, is just jealous!.
Do we think they are right to do and say this ?.

£15m for a player in League 1 is obscene

I get what they are trying to do. They are buying good quality Championship players now, so if as expected they walk this league that is below the level of the quality they have, then next season these same guys will have had a year together and they won't need to bed many players next season, which will stand them in good stead for a play off push.

Yeah it's disgraceful, they broke all of the Third Division transfer records recently.
Maybe there's a thin dividing line though between ambition, and sheer ignorance/stupidity!.

It's not disgraceful. They are entitled to spend the money they make how they see fit. They have been excellent at bringing in sponsorship cash in the millions. They even have Delta as their official airline partner.

I know they aren't breaking any rules of course, but I think it's disgraceful (opinions ehh!).
Had we beat the Fowls at Wembley a few seasons ago, and gone up, like we should have done. I think we'd have been in the bottom three all season, with Rotherham for example.
And it would have been another awful Championship relegation slog, again.

Not in my case. I’m more astounded that they keep going down the ‘moneyed’ route even though it’s brought them so much despair - I mean just look which level they’re currently playing at.

Wigan fans used to have the same attitude, and Reading, but you can’t put a dog in a stable and call it a horse. Once the money stopped, they slowly gravitated back to where they started. Majority of those fans giving it the big one probably don’t even attend any more.

I’d fear for our long term future if we went down that route.

Ok then Fitz, so what is the alternative do we reckon ?.
Because with the way they are running us as a club, we're more likely to be relegated rather than promoted, when it comes to getting 'out' of this Third Division.
