Where does the time go? :) spent the majority of those years living in Liverpool so it's been a long lost love affair.

How many years has your love/hate (sometimes :) lasted ? :)

My first memory was winning 4-1 at Notts county. Think Gordon Hobson scored a couple, and of course running on the field after the last game of the season to celebrate Johnny Steele's promotion season. So I think that makes it 39.

This is my 56th season, God help me!

It all started in 61-62 and I was a regular at Oakwell until the 70-71 when my RAF service started
I had one season "back home" 79-80 then I was off again
I finally moved close enough to attend all home matches just in time for our last relegation!

So, of those previous 55 seasons of occasional joy but mostly struggle, I have been at or near home for 14 and have been a long distance voyager for 41, when I usually got to see less than half a dozen home games a season.

There won't be many on here with my long service and good conduct record!

How many times have you trudged away from the ground saying " That was the worst game I have ever seen"

If that was aimed at me, it would have to be many times. There's no getting away from the fact that life watching Barnsley has seen more downs than ups, but those ups (sort of) make everything ok again :)

Last season has to be the most extraordinary of the lot.

Me too! First memory is of a 1-0 cup win over Luton in Feb 62 (aged 9 3/4). 21 years continuous dross before a first sniff of proper football lol

52 for me! Didn't miss a home game for first five seasons; including friendlies, County Cup etc., but then moved away from Wombwell and have been a long distance supporter for the last 47years. The worst time was '76 to '79 when I worked in Central Africa and didn't see Saturdays results/reports until Tuesday when the UK Sunday papers came into the shops!

50 this year for me. First game was a draw with Exeter which, I think, took us out of the bottom four of the 4th Division . It was just after this that we signed Thomas and Evans and the rest is history.

42 for me, my first match at Oakwell was actually 1967 but me and Dyson's dad started with the first Sunday game in 1974 v Chester (1-1).

Can someone help me pin down the year? - I think it was 1968, and I walked through the open gates for the last 10 minutes of a game in which I think they beat Newport County 4-2? They were promoted to Div 3, finishing second behind Luton town. Club stars were the likes of Johnny Evans and Bettany in midfield - local teacher Bob Earnshaw on the right wing. Followed them for most years since then, but going to University and then working in Notts meant I missed a few of their less illustrious seasons.

57 years. Beat you by ONE. Like you I started my RAF career in 71. Settled in Stamford in 92 and have been a regular 190 mile round trip nutcase ever since.

Feel like a young pup :) can't argue though . Think it has to have been the best time to be a Barnsley fan what with promotion to the top flight, play off finals , FA cup semis etc

65 years in November but I only remember about 58 years. I was 6 month old when my Mum and Dad took me on the Spion Cop.

Yes that was the last match of the brilliant 67-68 campaign. Joyful celebrations after that Newport game. There were even people on the pitch

My 66th season coming up. Was first taken at the age of seven and immediately hooked.

I can remember seeing Billie Liddle play at Oakwell for Liverpool Reserves in the early 60s. Them were t'days, footy every week - first team and reserves alternating.
