    Hardly a surprise really.

BARNSLEY boss Keith Hill has hinted that Goran Lovre’s Oakwell career could soon be coming to an end.

The Serbian international midfielder/forward has not played a single game for the Reds this season and so it would hardly come as a surprise if he were to leave.

Lovre’s deal expires this summer, with the 29-year-old one of 11 players whose contracts are up for renewal.

Hill told The Star: “Goran’s been superb but he’s not playing, so it’s just taking care of business.

“It’s about being respectful to Goran and what we need to do going forward.”

Lovre made 19 starts last season under former Reds manager Mark Robins.

But this season the former Anderlecht and FC Groningen has been unable to force his way into the first team.

Loanee Danny Drinkwater has commanded a regular place, young skipper Jacob Butterfield has come on leaps and bounds, while Craig Davies, with five goals from his last five games, is leading the club’s forward line.

"But this season he's been unable to force his way into the first team" - probably because he's been injured.

I reckon he would suit our passing game well 2, maybe not got the legs/work ethic to fit in though.
