    Personally,

as much as I rate McPhail, I'd like to see a no nonsense midfield presence alongside Howard and £500k for Chopra aint good business. I'd have Shipperley and Flitcroft from the Blunts for that money.

    Let him have his day.

The clock's ticking on that club, especially with him spending other people's money to serve his personal agenda.

If thats the case i just dont understand how they can sign Chopra when our chairman is telling us we cant do anything till the end of the month because hes still under contract!
If we are going to keep sitting back and being mr nice guy we wont get any decent players as they will have all gone and if thats the case i can see us end up in the **** come the end of next season.

Relax a bit. If Andy Ritchie really wants someone we'll get them.

    Don't agree with that

We've no control on what a player wants to do. I reckon Ritchie really wants Chopra and McPhail but I doubt we'll have them. That's not to say we should break the bank to keep them as I don't think we should, but Ritchie really wanting them is only half the equation.

For what it's worth, I don't think Mcphail is all that and I doubt he'll shine in the championship.

We would have to purchase him now... or wait a month 'til he's free (but we'd still have to pay compensation)

    Whatever the ins and outs...

.....agreements can be met. The actual signing is just a technicality.

Agreed re McPhail by the way. Can't understand all the fuss.

they can sign pre contract agreements wich is as good as, as with the lad who chelsea have just had to pay man utd for because he had signed one with them. Agree about McPhail, think he is over rated anyway and can be replaced, bit arrogant too the way he was saying we need about 5 players, nice to know he respects his team mates.

    Mcphail...

has played in huge grounds across europe and played in both the premiership and champions league. he has also played plenty for his country. so we should be glad we had someone like that playing in league one for two years which is clearly below his level. when he comes back next season for whoever he should be given a heros welcome for helping us out of the league.

I think he's right on that

If we want to make a decent fist of it I reckon we do need 5 players.
