    Mate told me about a cafe that's opened at silkstone common down near the trans pennine trail. it's in the equestrian centre. called today and it was really nice. open Thursday to Monday. worth a visit if your out walking that way..

    I remember many years ago an Italian restaurant opened there and it was fantastic... Lively, great authentic food, open kitchen etc. . It shut down after a short time and, whilst I may be wrong, it was due to locals complaining about the increased traffic at night disturbing them. I do find that hard to believe as it was not exactly a busy road and the restaurant was set well back . On the two or three occasions we went it was very busy so not sure it would have simply gone bust! I also think it re-opened at some point as an Indian restaurant?

    I am sure someone on here will know why it changed.

    It’s not the same place that Skinner is on about but the Indian restaurant you refer to, Chilli Lodge, is still going.

    If anyone makes it as far as Hazelhead on the TPT the Magic Wood Cafe is a top notch stop off.

    This oss box does an amazing sausage sarnie but don't bother if weather is a bit dodgy, understandably she doesn't open
