    Problem With Being A Keeper...........

is you might only make one mistake and it can be costly, but a striker can miss chance after chance and doesn't get half the abuse.

    None?

    are you sure about that?

Heaven forbid we should try to improve the team at the expense of one of your "mates"

How many was he at fault for against Coventry

About 1 less than Muller against Colchester.
But you wont accept that , cos it fashion to get on Colgans back, Muller can let goals and its down to him bedding in.FFS.
By the way Colgan is not one of my mates , but I think he took a lot of unwarrented flak against coventry.

    LOL

Colgan's not done too bad in his pre season this season and agin Cov & Darlo BUT a new keeper was signed and will likely be first choice (unless he proves to be no better) because of Colgan's weaknesses oft demonstrated last season.

And I dont think Muller was much at fault for either of the Colch. goals nor Colgan much at fault agin cov.

RE: How many was he at fault for against Coventry

Strange how some some people on here criticised Colgan for being "rooted to his line" for Coventry's goals - saw the Colchester goals and Muller was also rooted to his line but I didn't see the Colgan critics mention that!

What sort of crosses were they though

Both relatively quick and low and colchesters 2nd took a deflection probably off Kozluk.

    Hardly a comparison.

Colgans weakness is the high cross.

I'll bet thee a parnd to a piece of ***** we'll concede less goals from corners and crosses with Muller in the pegs.

We may or we may not

It's the inconsistancy of how people lambast one player and then someone else does the same and they don't say owt.

    How so in this case

Colgan gets stick because of historical tendancy to **** up - same with Reid. No doubt if any of the new signings show similar consistant weaknesses that they will also get flak.

    I agree with Eaststander

By the way , didnt Muller play against Darlington. I am sure he was in goal. I was there and he made his debut.

    oops!

    And what did you think?

He had not a lot to do to be honest but I thought his distribution was excellent.

    RE: oops!

I thought he did ok , but he did let Tommy Wright score a goal, so that marks him down as dodgy :D :D :D :D
I do think that playing with wingbacks helps to let the keeper throw the ball out. It gives more options in the wide areas, David Watson always looked to throw the ball to Eaden or Thompson. Worked well then , cant see why it cant now?

When he played for Leeds, many people were tipping him for future England glory, he as acheived that , but i have never rated the guy. Not good enough for England, in fact we lack goalkeepers who are up to scratch. Bring Seamen out of retirement if we are to progress much further in Europe. (chinny)

Robinson fluffs and its Colgan Colgan Colgan again

my last post on the subject....
Colgan is a good keeper, he is not perfect..then again neither is Englands No1 or No 13 or Germanys No1

Not only is he a good keeper he is also a good professional, looks after himself and keeps fit
He also takes the time to go down to the Academy in the evenings and help coach the kids

    Good keeper and good bloke
